For a hotter and longer burn, Coffee Logs – manufactured in Great Britain by a clean technology company called bio-bean – is perfect for this job.
Made from recycled coffee grounds, one log contains 25 cups of coffee which has 20% more energy than wood so the logs will burn for longer than other types of fuel so you’re getting more for your money.
They’re pretty versatile as it can be used for traditional fireplaces, open fires, multi-fuel stoves or chimineas. If you’re hoping for a lovely strong coffee scent as it burns, unfortunately there won’t be. However, it has a very faint smell of coffee along with the usual smoke smell when burning. With the wax coating on the logs, it helps them to light up easily and pretty quickly.
Burning wooden logs can be dangerous as the invisible particles emitted can lead to heart disease and cancer as toxicology experts warn. By using these coffee logs, not only are you protecting your health and others but you’re also doing your bit for the environment as they’re carbon neutral and you’re helping to reduce landfill waste just by a bit. Now you don’t have to feel bad burning logs to keep warm or when cooking.
